Police: Ridgewood Street Burglars Could be in Custody

A pair of juveniles arrested over the weekend could be suspects involved in a burglary that happened in Glenwood Estates Friday, according to Clearwater Police.

Two juveniles arrested by Clearwater Police over the weekend could be suspects involved in a Friday burglary that was interrupted when a teenage girl surprised them.

The pair have not been charged in the burglary that happened in Glenwood Estates but investigators believe they were part of the break-in, according to Rob Shaw, Clearwater Police spokesman.

A 16-year-old girl got home Friday afternoon, looked up the stairs and saw the barrel of a handgun, she told media after the incident. A suspect fired a round - missing her and hitting the floor.

A suspect, who is not being named because he is a juvenile, was taken into custody after police searched the neighborhood. A couple guns, a portable DVD player and jewelry were stolen from the home, police said.

The other two suspects escaped.

A 15-year-old was arrested on violation of probation charges Sunday, Shaw said.

Also, police arrested and charged a 17-year-old with burglary and auto theft near the same area Sunday. His brother is the suspect police caught during a man hunt Friday afternoon.
