A Clearwater woman was charged with felony child neglect after leaving three of her children home alone, according to Largo Police.

Teanna Marie Ketter was arrested and charged June 23 after a witness found a child wearing a diaper in the middle of the street during a downpour, according to arrest records.

After seeing the first child in the street, the witness entered Ketter's home and found another child alone and crying upstairs; an infant was also discovered wrapped up and laying on the living room floor, the report states.

The witness took custody of the three children and called the police.

Ketter, 21, claimed she left the children with their biological father while she went to take her mother to work, according to police.

But further investigation revealed Ketter lied about the situation, and that she had left the kids alone for a minimum of 30 minutes, leading to her arrest on the neglect charges.

Jail records show Ketter was released on bond on June 24.

Ketter's children were placed in Department of Children and Family custody following the incident, records show.
