Replyspeaking of smoke and mirrors, another example of the games that the lens people are pulling was so clear at the city council meeting....the representation of the supporters was just too perfect to suggest that it was random. It was probably staged, the boy scouts, too. Beware, it is possible that the bloggers in support of the lens is a small group of people, again, representing a cross section of whom they want to be seen in support of the lens......really possible.

ReplyIt's difficult for most everyone to be objective on an issue of this magnitude yet, come on now, what do the opponents suggest that our community and society do when the citizens object to a decision made by their elected representatives? Believe me, it is not easy to collect all these signatures and the Stop the Lens group is a minority of those with deep pockets. It is just not a fair representation of the petition signers as a "small, vocal minority". My gosh, in this age of domestic terrorism and violence, it is imperative that we continue believing in our system of government with peaceful checks and balances.

ReplyAt least there is a clear difference between the two candidates, McKallip and Rice, and maybe someday D Rice will post her positions on Doc's excellent blog. It seems like both candidates are extreme, though, which is frightening because what our city (and country) needs right now is consensus. Never has this nation been so torn apart by divisive politics and I applaud Doc W for sharing his wisdom and insight on life, garnered by years of real living! Opine on, Doc!

ReplyOne is able to view the alleged violation recording before determining to appeal or not. That is why they have made the penalty stiff because it is usually pretty clear if you have passed the white line and entered the intersection after the signal turned red. The court has many very important cases to resolve and should not be a forum for frustration.

ReplyExcellent synopsis, Doc!.....let's not forget, too, that there was deception on the part of the "committee" (oh, that sounds so much like Cuba!!!).....in that the $150million version of the Lens was presented to the public for input. It was selected and then the announcement came..."oh, by the way, this is for the future....a downscaled version is what we offer"....and the main component of the downsized version is the underwater garden that locals have decried since it's inception...not gonna work!
