I started my career in radio, moved on to public relations, and ultimately settled on a career as a freelance writer. I love Florida, and nothing beats getting outside and experiencing it up close and personal. I have an MLA with a focus on Florida Studies from USF- St. Petersburg. My thesis recreated the WPA's 1939 Guide to the Southernmost State, and my intrepid dachshund, Calypso, and I retraced 22 historic driving tours and wrote about what I found. The salt air and laid-back atmosphere of many of Clearwater's quieter areas reminds me of yesterday's Florida- with a twist.
