UPDATE: Pedestrian Killed Crossing Missouri Ave. in Clearwater
Clearwater Police say the man was crossing Missouri near Turner Street when he was struck Wednesday evening.
Updated, 9:04 p.m.: A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle as he crossed Missouri Avenue near Turner Street in Clearwater, authorities said Wednesday. According to a preliminary investigation, the man was crossing Missouri from the east to the west side and south of the intersection at Turner Street when he was hit, public safety spokesperson Elizabeth Watts said. The man has not yet been identified. The driver, 50-year-old Kevin Michael Zeh, of St. Petersburg, "did not see the pedestrian until just before impact," Watts said. No Jenny, that is not J walking. Once again it's the lack of education. It's sad you want be able to teach your children what J walking is because you don't know what it means. I'm sorry that there are some very stupid auto drivers also. Rude and in a hurry. At least you used the cross walk and was very observant.
