Teen Bicyclist Injured in Crash Did Not Have Lights, Deputies Say

A 16-year-old Clearwater boy sustained non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a Jeep Cherokee at the intersection of Main Street and New York Avenue in Dunedin late Saturday.

A teen bicyclist was injured when he was struck by a vehicle while riding on a Main Street sidewalk Saturday night in Dunedin, authorities report. The 16-year-old Clearwater boy's injuries are not life-threatening, Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies report. He was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment. Patrol deputies say the teen was not wearing a helmet and did not have lights on the bike. Daniel E. McLaughlin was riding a bicycle east on Main Street on the sidewalk just after 8 p.m. Saturday, according to deputies.  Mary J.
