Whole Foods Market Plans Get Official Look

Conceptual plans to bring a Whole Foods Market to space at Countryside Mall in Clearwater are set for an initial, official review Wednesday.

There are more signs Whole Foods Market is coming to Westfield Countryside Mall in Clearwater. For example: The renderings planners filed in order to get direction from officials with the city's Building Plan Review Committee about bringing the nearly 38,000-square-foot store to space sliced out of the Sears at the mall. The committee is expected to review Wednesday the conceptual plans, which show different views of a modern facade and the Whole Foods logo. Sears would keep the south entrance near BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse and the service and merchandise pick-up entrances on the north part of the building. New facades would be installed at the Sears entrances. The four loading bay docks would be split. Whole Foods Location: Plans Are Moving Forward, Countryside Mall Says

Plans are moving forward to bring the natural foods grocery chain to Clearwater, officials with Westfield Countryside Mall said Monday.

Plans are moving forward to bring Pinellas County's first Whole Foods Market to Westfield Countryside Mall, officials with the mall confirmed Monday. “From what we have seen and are allowed to speak about, Sears is working directly with (Whole Foods),” said Lauren Clark, spokeswoman with Westfield Countryside Mall. “We don’t have a date on exactly but we do know they are looking to move forward.” Whole Foods officials said they do not have a specific location in mind yet but are planning to open a store in Clearwater sometime in 2014. An architecture firm, which does not represent Whole Foods but has completed similar projects for Sears throughout the country, presented plans on subdividing 37,000 square feet for the grocery store to city …

Whole Foods Market Announces Plans For Clearwater Store

The company made the announcement on social media.

Updated, Nov. 8: Whole Foods Market will not open in Clearwater until 2014 or later, the company's public relations department told a Patch editor Thursday via Twitter. A location has not been decided. Earlier: Whole Foods Market announced on Facebook Wednesday that a new store would soon be coming to the Clearwater area. Around 5:45 p.m., the Whole Foods Market Facebook account posted: "Here are the new store locations that have just been released: Altamonte Springs & Clearwater, FL; Hyannis, MA; Morristown, NJ; Philadelphia & South Hills, PA; Dallas, TX; Seattle, WA; New York City, NY (Upper East Side & Harlem) and North Carolina!"
