Holiday Shopping Reaches Fever Pitch

A special sneaker and a 24-hour marathon at Toys R' Us leads to long lines and jammed parking lots.

The line at the Westfield Countryside Mall began forming at 4:30 this morning, and it wasn't filled with people clamoring for a must-have toy or a last-minute sitting with Santa. No these shoppers were waiting for the latest edition of the Air Jordan sneaker, the Retro 11 Concord, to be released. And judging by the crowds, it was the hot item to get a hold of for some this holiday season. "We had 35 pairs available, and they sold out in ten minutes," Brandon, an employee at the Foot Action in the mall, said.
