Ever considered raising chickens in your backyard or growing your own food? A new urban farming conference will share everything from backyard farming to raising crops for local markets. The one-day event is Saturday, Feb. 9 from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Pinellas County Extension at 12520 Ulmerton Road, Largo, according to a media release. While raising chickens is allowed in unincorporated Pinellas County, it is banned in Clearwater. The cost is $7.50 for the morning or afternoon session, $12 for the full day.
