Suspected Serial Bank Robber Arrested
Wesley Andrew Fox, 27, is accused of robbing two Clearwater PNC Banks and one in St. Petersburg. Authorities have not said if he is a suspect in a fourth PNC Bank robbery in Largo and the robbery of a New Port Richey credit union.
Clearwater Police detectives think they've found the culprit behind two armed robberies at local PNC banks. Wesley Andrew Fox, 27, is charged with two counts of armed bank robbery and kidnapping in connection with armed robberies at the PNC Bank at 2498 Gulf to Bay Blvd. on May 26 and the PNC Bank at 2575 Countryside Blvd. on June 19. Fox caught the attention of Clearwater Police after he was arrested for a bank robbery in St. Petersburg Friday. St. Petersburg Police arrested Fox after witnessing an unusual chain of events. Detectives say they saw him place something over his face as he entered a PNC bank at 3801 49th St at 5:57 p.m. Friday. A short time later, detectives say they saw Fox run out of the bank and to car.
