Jason Paul Vigil Begins Healing for Crest Lake Park

After the death of Jason Paul, family members, friends and neighbors gathered in Clearwater's Crest Lake Park to remember and move forward.

Bagpipes played and numerous candles lit the path from the dog park to the pier in Clearwater's Crest Lake Park on Feb. 23 to commemorate the life of Jason Paul. Paul was bicycling home from work and a quick stop at the store when he was found stabbed near the park Jan. 6. Clearwater Police still are looking for a suspect, motive and weapon. The vigil was meant to show support for the family as well as for Crest Lake Park, said JoAnna Siskin, president of the Skycrest Neighborhood Association. More events are being planned to bring a more positive energy to the park, she said. Some of those events include a spoken word night, chalk art night and doggy date night. A memorial for Jason Paul, who was found stabbed to death near Crest Lake Park, is planned for 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Clearwater park.

It is 51 days since Jason Paul was stabbed and left for dead near Crest Lake Park in Clearwater. Paul was bicycling home from work and a quick stop at the store when he was found stabbed Jan. 6. Clearwater Police still are looking for a suspect, weapon and motive into the city’s first homicide of 2013. While detectives run down leads, supporters are planning a candlelight vigil to honor Paul on Feb. 23 at Crest Lake Park. Social Media Enlisted to Help Solve Jason Paul Stabbing

A Facebook page was recently created in an effort to solve the Jan. 6 murder. The 22-year-old's body was discovered a block from his house at a Clearwater park.

Friends of stabbing victim Jason Paul are taking to social media in an effort to solve his murder. The "Please Help Solve Jason Paul’s Homocide" Facebook page was recently created. It had more than 230 fans as of Monday evening. Clearwater Police detectives say Paul, 22, was riding his bike home from work at Sunset Point Road and U.S. 19. He stopped at Walmart and bought some cleaning supplies. They were found still strapped to his bike when his body was discovered a block from his house at 12:40 a.m. on Glenwood Avenue near Crest Lake Park. Police still are seeking a suspect in Paul’s murder. Renee' Paul Langfritz, Paul's mother, commented on the Facebook page: "anyone who has any info please don't be afraid to come forward to the …

Family Raises $10,000 to Find Jason Paul's Killer

In an effort to generate credible information and leads in the City of Clearwater's first homicide of the year, Jason Paul's family is offering $10,000 in addition to the $1,000 Crime Stoppers reward already offered.

Frustrating. Angering. Maddening. It is 16 days since Renee Langfritz found out her only child Jason Paul was stabbed to death. She just wants to catch the culprit. “The daily tears, heartache and sadness of not being able to see his face or hear his laugh are unbearable, but most of all, frustrating,” Langfritz said during a press conference at Clearwater Police headquarters Tuesday. “The frustration and anger caused from lack of answers as to why this has happened and who can carry out such a violent attack on another human being, not to mention on our son, is maddening.” In an effort to generate credible information and leads in the city's first homicide of the year, Paul's family is offering a $10,000 reward, in addition to the $1,000 …

In an effort to generate credible information and leads in the city's first homicide of the year Paul's family added $10,000 to the $1,000 Crime Stoppers reward already offered, according to Clearwater Police.  Detectives say Paul, 22, was riding his bike home from work at Sunset Point Road and U.S. 19. He stopped at Walmart and bought some items. He was about a block from his house when he was found stabbed to death at 12:40 a.m. on Glenwood Avenue.
