Update: Deputy U.S. Marshal Accidentally Shoots Self at Gun Range

An employee of the U.S. Marshals Service suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the upper leg at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office shooting range, officials said.

Updated, 2:01 p.m.: A group of U.S. Marshals employees were conducting shooting exercises at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office gun range around 9 a.m. Wednesday when one of them suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the upper leg, according to a news release. Officials are not releasing the name of the person due to their current work assignment. The person is a deputy marshal, a spokesperson told the Tampa Bay Times.   Earlier: An employee of the U.S. Marshals Service was injured when a gun accidentally went off at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office shooting range in St. Petersburg, authorities said Wednesday.
