The Bright House Super Boat National Championship and Seafood Festival will be held this weekend, Sept. 28-30.
Powerboats will be thundering off Clearwater Beach at the Bright House Super Boat National Championship and Seafood Festival this weekend. The festivities kick off Friday with VIP and block parties, boat parade and a meet-and-greet and photo session with the racers and their boats. The fun continues with a fireworks display on Saturday. Hundreds of supporters crowded Crest Lake Park for the Melissa Dohme Benefit last weekend. Families, friends, and members of the community came out to the event to help support Dohme's rehabilitation efforts. Dohme is making a miraculous recovery after surviving a brutal attack in January at the hands of her ex-boyfriend. Dave Dohme, Melissa's father, said supporters came from as far as New Port Richey. Others found out through Facebook and other social media means. "It is amazing how people come together, even strangers, when tragedies occur," he said.
