32 Citations Issued During Weekend DUI 'Wolf Pack'

The citations included seven DUIs and one possession of cocaine during the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office operation.

Pinellas County deputies issued 32 citations over the weekend during their monthly DUI Wolf Pack Operation.  The citations included:  According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, "the goal of the Wolf Pack is to target drivers under the influence of alcohol, aggressive driving and other traffic related violations." Police: Man Crashes Truck Into Home, Detained by Neighbors

Clearwater Police say the suspect tried to flee but was stopped by multiple neighbors.

A man is in custody after he allegedly crashed his truck into an Alemanda Drive home in Clearwater and was detained by neighbors as he tried to leave the scene.  Clearwater Police arrested and charged Randall Fowler, 47, with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.  According to the police report, Fowler was driving a Chevy truck in the 2100 block of Alemanda Drive and left the roadway and into the home. The truck entered the home through the southern wall, coming to rest inside the living room. The suspect, according to police, then backed the truck out of the home and attempted to flee the area. DUI Manslaughter Charge For Clearwater Woman in Passenger's Death

The 32-year-old Clearwater woman was charged in connection with an October crash near the Bayside Bridge in which a passenger was partially ejected from her car and died, investigators said.

A Clearwater woman has been charged with DUI manslaughter in connection with an October accident in which a passenger in her car was killed, authorities said Monday. Veronica Herrera, 32, had just exited the Bayside Bridge shortly after 3 a.m. last Oct. 27 when the accident occurred, Florida Highway Patrol investigators said. She was headed south on County Road 611 just north of Roosevelt Boulevard when she failed to handle a curve and left the roadway, traveling into the median. Herrera's 2006 Nissan Altima struck some landscaping before entering the roadway's northbound lanes. Passenger Noi Pinheiro, 45, of Bartow, who was sitting in the right front seat but not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected from the car. Pinheiro was taken …

Deputies Net 12 DUIs in Weekend Wolf Pack Patrols

Sheriff's deputies arrested 12 drivers charged with DUIs and wrote 28 citations during a targeted patrol across Pinellas County over the weekend.

Sheriff's deputies arrested 12 drivers and issued 28 citations while patrolling Pinellas County over the weekend, authorities report. Patrol deputies monitored traffic throughout the county on Friday and Saturday and targeted reckless or aggressive drivers, or those who may have been under the influence of alcohol. The DUI Wolf Pack operations are conducted monthly, on nights separate from the once-a-month DUI checkpoints. Deputies say the effort is meant to reduce DUI-related injuries and educate about the dangers of drinking and driving. Pinellas County Sheriff's released these results from the operation:

DUI Patrols Heat Up for Holiday Weekend

Clearwater residents can expect to see more law enforcement on the roads through New Year’s Day.

With the long New Year’s weekend kicking off for many tonight at 5, the Florida Highway Patrol and other local law enforcement agencies, like the Clearwater Police, aim to make their presence known. FHP is participating in National Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month activities, and troopers want to remind motorists to take care behind the wheel. “New Year’s is a party-type holiday,” Sgt. Steve Gaskins acknowledged. “We want to remind people that even during your celebrations you have to make plans ahead of time. Clearwater Police were on the lookout for impaired drivers at various places throughout the city Saturday night and Sunday morning. Police Special Operations and Traffic Enforcement Team were part of the DUI enforcement detail from 7 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Sunday. Clearwater Man Charged With DUI Manslaughter in Dunedin Crash

Investigators say Adrian David Rodriguez's blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit when he ran a red light and struck a car driven by Christopher Holly at U.S. 19 and Republic Drive last month.

A Clearwater man accused of running a red light and killing another driver last month in Dunedin has been charged with DUI manslaughter, the Tampa Bay Times reports, citing the Florida Highway Patrol. Adrian David Rodriguez, 33, turned himself in Friday and was booked in Pinellas County Jail, according to the report. FHP investigators said Rodriguez ran a red light with his 1999 Nissan Altima at U.S. 19 and Republic Drive in Dunedin in the early morning hours of Oct. 6. Christopher Holly, 28, was making a U-turn at the intersection when his Nissan Xterra was struck by Rodriguez's. The impact caused Holly's car to roll over, and he died at the scene. FHP: Keep The Party Off The Road This Halloween

Do you plan on attending a Halloween party this weekend? A warning: the Florida Highway Patrol has launched an aggressive crackdown on impaired drivers that runs through Nov. 4.

If you think a Halloween costume will disguise your drunk driving, the Florida Highway Patrol has a message for you: “Keep the party off the road.”  The Patrol joins thousands of other law enforcement and highway safety agencies across the nation this week to launch an aggressive crackdown on impaired drivers through Nov. 4. “The Patrol continues to make driving under the influence (DUI) enforcement a priority,” said Col.
