Clearwater Fetish Filmmaker Ordered to Pay $14K to Four Homeless Men

Jeffrey Williams, according to the Times, produced a, "series of fetish videos that showed women beating up handcuffed men."

A local judge has order a Clearwater fetish filmmaker to pay four homeless men $14,000 after they were beaten in one of his films, according to a report by the Tampa Bay Times.  Jeffery Williams, according to the Times, produced a, "series of fetish videos that showed women beating up handcuffed men." "The men claimed they were offered $25 to $50 each to be whipped, beaten and dominated by scantily clad women as cameras rolled. They said they were not allowed to fight back and had to endure the beatings for 12 minutes in order to get paid." According to Pinellas County Jail records, Williams is currently awaiting trial on a $55,000 bond. He has been charged with three counts of aggravated abuse of an elderly/disabled adult.  To read the …

19 Arrests in Sobriety Checkpoint Near Clearwater High

Authorities issued charges for DUI, possession of substances including crystal meth, prescription pain pills and marijuana as part of a sobriety checkpoint near Clearwater High School late Friday and early Saturday.

Authorities arrested 19 people near Clearwater High School late Friday to early Saturday. They issued 27 citations, impounded 12 vehicles, and charged 8 drivers with DUIs. Authorities also issued a handful of possession charges for substances including crystal meth, alprazolam and marijuana.  Pinellas County deputies and Clearwater Police worked together in the weekend sobriety checkpoint in an effort to catch drivers impaired by alcohol and drugs.  The following are the complete results of the sobriety checkpoint: This month's checkpoint was dedicated to Steven Thillard, who died in a 2006 crash. The sheriff's office conducts sobriety checks monthly at locations around Pinellas. Sex Abuse Survivor's Journey for Law Change

Sexual abuse survivor and advocate Lauren Book is walking 1,500 miles across Florida to raise awareness and to lobby for tougher child abuse laws.

A survivor of childhood sex abuse who is walking across Florida to raise awareness is making stops in South Tampa this week. Lauren Book, who founded the nonprofit, Lauren's Kids, is working to change Florida laws to better prevent abuse and help survivors to heal. After walking in Clearwater Tuesday morning, she is scheduled to stop at Alpha House, 201 S. Tampania Ave., where she will participate in a group session. Wednesday morning, she will be at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 Franklin St. (See schedule below for details.) The 1,500-mile walk through Florida began March 19 in Key West and will end in Tallahassee on April 23, with a rally at the state Capitol. April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Clearwater Man to Serve at Least 20 Years in Jail

Todd Naylor was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of firing at a vehicle.

Todd Christopher Naylor, 36, of Clearwater will serve at least 20 years in prison after he was found guilty on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of firing at a vehicle, according to a report from the Tampa Bay Times.  The Times reported Naylor, "was convicted on charges that he fired a shotgun toward cars while traveling on Tampa Road in Oldsmar. According to Pinellas County Jail records, he was arrested in 2005 on charges violation of parole for grand theft and possession of marijuana and contempt of court.
