Clearwater Police Help With Major Drug, Gun Arrests in Largo

The roundup was part of an investigation into narcotics activity in the area of Beverly Avenue and Clearwater-Largo Road, police said.

Clearwater Police assisted with a major roundup of illegal drugs and firearms that were being distributed from a Largo apartment, authorities said Thursday. Teams from Clearwater Police and Largo Police partnered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to execute a search warrant Monday at 908 Beverly Ave. in Largo, where officials said several firearms and narcotics had been purchased. Largo Police had begun an investigation in the area of Beverly Avenue and Clearwater-Largo Road in October 2012 following tips from the community about narcotics activity there. 9 Clerks Accused of Selling Alcohol to Minors

Nine clerks from Clearwater Beach and downtown businesses were arrested and charged with selling alcohol to a person under 21 after an undercover operation Friday night, according to Clearwater Police.

An undercover operation conducted by Clearwater Police resulted in the arrests of nine clerks on charges of selling alcohol to persons under 21 Friday night. The Beach Anti-Crime Team teamed up with Americorp Members to send minors into stores to purchase alcohol from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Feb. 15. Several establishments refused to sell alcohol to the minors, according to a Clearwater Police release. The following store clerks were arrested and charged with selling alcohol to a person under 21. All clerks were released with a Notice to Appear with the exception of Loren Jones, who authorities say had a prior offense for the same charges. DUI Checkpoint Nets Nearly 200 Stops, 1 Arrest at Clearwater Kmart

Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies made one arrest and issued a citation during a sobriety checkpoint Friday night at a Kmart on U.S. 19, according to officials.

Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies stopped nearly 200 vehicles — making one arrest and issuing a citation — during a sobriety checkpoint Friday night at the Kmart parking lot near U.S. 19 and State Road 580 in Clearwater. Deputies arrested and charged one person with no valid driver license, two counts of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and a count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Deputies also issued one citation. At the checkpoint, community policing, K-9 and narcotics deputies diverted 194 vehicles looking for alcohol and drug impaired drivers. Eight Arrested in Drug and Prostitution Sting

Clearwater Police conducted a prostitution and drug detail in the East Gateway and Old Clearwater Bay neighborhoods throughout the weekend.

Multiple Arrests for Fighting on Clearwater Beach Friday

Clearwater Police took nine people into custody for charges ranging from disorderly conduct to battery on a law enforcement officer.

With spring break winding down it appears tempers were flaring up, as Clearwater Police officers arrested nine subjects on a variety of charges stemming from multiple fights on Friday. According to the police report, beach officers responded to numerous fight calls involving large groups of subjects between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Just before 8:30, officers took several suspects into custody who were "willfully engaged in fights" in the area of Pier 60.  During the encounter, several subjects resisted arrest, and they were charged accordingly. Dunedin Man Wanted in Robbery

Clearwater police arrested two suspects involved in a robbery and are looking a third suspect, 19-year-old Chase Matthew Brown of Dunedin.

Clearwater detectives arrested two suspects involved in the robbery and beating of Steven A. Carrigan of Tarpon Springs. They are looking a third suspect, 19-year-old Chase Matthew Brown of Dunedin.  Detectives say that Melody Michelle Sanders lured Carrigan, 20, to the 2600 block of Seville Boulevard on July 26. He was then battered by 18-year-old Timothy Hugh Miller and Brown.  They stole his pants, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said According to detectives Carrigan met Sanders, 20, while in jail. They decided to hang out once they were released, authorities said. On July 26 Carrigan met up with Sanders and a female witness whose name is not being released. Six Suspects Arrested in Prostitution Sting

Clearwater and Largo Police worked the detail to arrest six suspects prostitution related crimes.

Woman with birth dates spanning five decades all were arrested and charged as suspects participating in the world’s oldest profession Thursday (Aug. 11). Clearwater and Largo police arrested and charged six women with prostitution and related crimes in areas with a long history of complaints by residents and businesses, according to Elizabeth Watts, spokeswoman for Clearwater police. Clearwater and Largo Police worked undercover in various areas along Gulf to Bay Boulevard, North Ft. Harrison Avenue and Clearwater-Largo Road, Watts said in a release.
