A bicyclist suffered life threatening injuries after being hit by a car crossing Lake Avenue near Gulf to Bay Boulevard early Saturday morning, according to Clearwater Police. Daniel R. Rothwell, 60, was heading westbound on the sidewalk next to Gulf to Bay Boulevard around 12:56 a.m. when he started to cross Lake Avenue. At the same time, Ronald F. Hale, 60, turned off Gulf to Bay Boulevard to head south on Lake Avenue in his 2003 Mercedes Benz. Rothwell, who had no lights on his bicycle, was hit by Hale. The Gulf to Bay Boulevard signal for east and west traffic was green at the time, according to investigators. Two 4-year-olds were accidently served alcoholic daiquiris during a Mother's Day dinner at Frenchy's South Beach Cafe, according to a report from TBO.com. Jamie Goins and Jessica Weatherford took their children out with them on Mother's Day and planned to get their little ones a special treat: non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiris, according to the TBO report. Angelica Lee Hall, 18, was a passenger on a motorcycle that crashed Thursday morning. It was the second time she was involved in a crash in less than two months. In both incidents, Shay Daniel Lydon, 20, of Palm Harbor, was the driver.
A Palm Harbor teen was killed Thursday morning when she was thrown from a motorcycle in Clearwater. Barely more than six weeks ago, the teen and the same driver were in a wreck on Curlew Road in Dunedin. Angelica Lee Hall, 18, died at the scene of Thursday's crash, which happened just before 10 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. That's double the number of attendants at the first National Armed Services & Law Enforcement Memorial Museum-sponsored forum in April. The upcoming forum, scheduled for July 17, will feature all candidates meeting the June 8 qualifying deadline. A 21-year-old faces weapons charges after patrol deputies found a loaded Uzi concealed in his backpack, according to a media release from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. William Cody Roach, of 2048 Sunset Grove Lane, was arrested about 2 a.m. Thursday and charged with carrying a concealed firearm. Deputies stopped him while he was walking near Belcher and Sunset Point roads in Clearwater. A 57-year old woman was killed while crossing Belcher Road at Cleveland Street in the rain late Wednesday night.
A 57-year old woman was killed while crossing Cleveland Street at Belcher Road in the rain late Wednesday night. It was dark and raining as Ryan Pasco, 33, was driving his 1967 Volkswagen south on Belcher Road near Cleveland Street. A woman was standing in the median lane of Belcher Road trying to cross about 50 feet south of the intersection when Pasco hit her around 10:25 p.m., according to Clearwater Police. There is no indication Pasco was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police said. However, alcohol is a factor on the part of the pedestrian, who was crossing outside of the crosswalk, they said. The woman was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa with life threatening injuries. Thomas Delgado is now charged with a total of four armed robberies after Clearwater Police caught the suspect early Sunday morning.
Clearwater Police charged an armed robbery suspect caught Sunday morning with three additional crimes after linking the man to three other similar crimes committed since January. Thomas Delgado, 44, is now charged with four counts of armed robbery after walking into a 7-Eleven with a gun and demanding money from a clerk early Sunday morning. He is being held on $200,000 bond. Because of a rash of robberies, detectives, using crime analysis software, honed in on some areas of interest. They were on surveillance duty nearby when Delgado fled with a store bag full of money. During the course of their investigation, authorities believe Delgado also was involved in the previous robberies. Here is a breakdown of the other incidents:

Store surveillance video recorded John Acton, 46, of Palm Harbor, as he swung his cell phone underneath the victim's dress, according to an arrest affidavit.
A Palm Harbor man accused of using his cell phone to secretly record underneath a victim's dress at a Clearwater store wound up in jail Saturday afternoon. Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputies arrested John Acton, 46, on a misdemeanor charge of video voyeurism after store surveillance video recorded Acton as he swung his cell phone underneath the victim's dress. The arrest affidavit also says Acton admitted to erasing the cell phone video of the victim's underpants. The incident happened at 3:25 p.m. inside a business at 2528 State Road 580, according to the report. The business located at the address is Total Wines, which is in a shopping complex across the street from the Clearwater Mall. Acton was released from the Pinellas County Jail …

Marcus Yulvaughne Wilson was arrested Sunday on a charge of second degree murder.
A Highpoint area 18-year-old has been charged with second degree murder in connection to a fatal shooting in a New Port Richey area park. Marcus Yulvaughne Wilson was drinking with Christopher Ashton Martin, whom he knew, at a camp site in Starkey Park over the weekend, according to a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. He passed out on a picnic table and woke up Sunday around 1 a.m., and discovered Martin was performing a sex act on him, according to the arrest report. Wilson told a detective he lost his temper and kicked Martin, whose 30th birthday was Sunday, in the back, knocking him to the ground. Wilson stated he picked up a .380 Taurus pistol as the Martin again approached, and then he shot him. Martin died. Wilson cleaned …

Thomas Delgado entered the 7-Eleven at 2030 Gulf to Bay Blvd around 12:45 a.m. with a gun in his hand and demanded money from the clerk, according to Clearwater Police. The clerk gave Delgado, 44, the money in one of the store's grocery bags. Then Delgado fled, according to investigators. What kind of "treat" is encouraging 4 year olds to "pretend" they are drinking alcohol? I guess if the moms had bought them juice or soda it wouldn't have been possible to accidentally put alcohol in the fake drinks. Maybe the moms had a few too many of the real drinks.   more ›
