<p>Deborah Clark is the Supervisor of Elections and oversees voting throughout Pinellas County. She was appointed to the position in 2000 by Gov. Jeb Bush. </p>
<p>There are 603, 370 registered voters in the county.</p> <p>The supervisor also has a Voter Outreach Department that has public <a href="http://www.votepinellas.com/ew_pages/files/2008_pinellas_voter_guide_4pg.pdf">demonstrations</a> of the optical scan voting system. The Florida Legislature ruled that all Florida voters must use paper ballots with optical scan voting systems starting July 1, 2008.</p> <p>The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections offers three $1,200 college scholarships to <a href="http://www.votepinellas.com/ew_pages/pdf_for_Website/Voter_Ed/FSASE%20application%202011.pdf.pdf">eligible</a> college juniors and seniors majoring in political science, public administration, business administration, journalism or mass communications.</p>
