The People's Medicine, Acupuncture and Holistic Wellness Center is located on South Duncan Avenue in the Town Centre complex just south of Gulf to Bay Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Keene Road. The Clinic Director, Dr. James A. Lugo, DAOM, L.AC., is the only acupuncturist in Pinellas county with a doctorate in acupuncture and Oriental medicine (DAOM). He has
studied acupuncture and Oriental medicine in Japan and China and specializes in a form of Japanese Meridian Therapy called Toyohari.

Acupuncture can treat a variety of conditions including low back and knee pain, migraines, arthritis, asthma and more. Dr. Lugo's doctoral research focused on neurological disorders,
specifically Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) ~ also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He is committed to working with ALS patients and those suffering from other neurological disorders.

The practice moved from 1890 West Bay Dr. to this location in May 2010. Beautiful pastel greens and golds with accents of both Japanese and Chinese decorations create a very relaxing, pleasant atmosphere. Typical office visits last 90 minutes for the first visit and 45-60 minutes for follow up visits.
