The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for urban areas across Pinellas County until 9 p.m. tonight.
High tide will be at 5:30 p.m., so expect flooded streets to worsen as the day progresses.
That means some roads will be impassable. Most flood deaths take place in cars because flooded roads may be deeper than they appear. Vehicles may be swept off roadways.
Turn around when you encounter a flooded road.
The St. Petersburg Police Department is warning that low-lying neighborhoods, such as Shore Acres, are experiencing high waters in roads.
