Bayside Park Open, But Swimming Still Banned
Rip currents and rough surf prompt lifeguards to tell folks to stay out of the water at Clearwater Beach. But the park is back in operation.
Bayside Park re-opened today, but swimming at Clearwater Beach is prohibited because of rip currents and rough surf from Tropical Storm Debby. The public is allowed to go out on the beach, but swimming is not allowed.
Due to high water, the City of Clearwater had closed Bayside Park, at 951 Gulf Boulevard, which is a beach area on the intercoastal waterway, directly across
Gulf Boulevard from the Sand Key Park.
However, Courtney Campbell Park, at 3249 Courtney Campbell Causeway, will stay closed until further notice.
