Phinley Makes Elite Eight in Mascot Bracket

Phinley faces Gnate the Gnat, of the Savannah Gnats, an affiliate of the New York Mets, in the latest round of voting for the Best Mascot in Minor League Baseball.

The Cinderella story continues for Phinley as the Threshers mascot made it to the next round of voting in the .

He will have to squash a bug to make it to the next round though. Phinley faces Gnate the Gnat, of the Savannah Sand Gnats, an affiliate of the New York Mets. Vote up to 25 times at milb.com/mascotmania through Monday (June 11). 

Phinley is the only Florida mascot still in the competition. He just beat Wool E. Bull of the Durham Bulls. Before that he , and , of the Carolina Mudcats.

Phinley will have to make it through two more rounds of voting before he can be crowned best mascot June 19.

Threshers officials are offering free game tickets to voters. Send a screenshot showing you voted the maximum amount of times to pr@threshersbaseball.com and you will be entered into the contest for a pair of tickets.
