Jays or Threshers: Who's Your Team?

This time of year, Clearwater and Dunedin take their friendly rivalry to the baseball field. Tell us which team you support for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Saturday's Threshers-Jays game!

Threshers vs. D-Jays: It’s a hometown rivalry as old as time — or at least it’s been brewing for several decades.

But with towns and teams that bump up against each other, the city limits don’t always delineate the Jays fans from the Threshers.

It can be difficult to predict who will fall on which side when you look at which Minor League team has a longer history in each town (Clearwater since 1985, Dunedin since 1990), which draws more fans (Clearwater with 173,618 fans for the 2011 season), or which has the better team (the Dunedin Blue Jays took the North Division Florida State League title last year).

Are you a longtime Dunedin resident who wears a red Threshers cap, or maybe a Clearwater resident who sports the bird and maple leaf?

Which team do you cheer for? Tell us why in the comments! We'll randomly reward one commenter with a pair of tickets to the Dunedin Blue Jays vs. Clearwater Threshers game this Saturday night at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.

Thanks for commenting, everyone! Monty Seidler won the pair of tickets to Saturday's Jays-Threshers game in our random drawing. Maybe he'll get to see new Blue Jays signee Vladimir Guererro! (Here's a link to the story on MLB.com: http://patch.com/A-tlk9)

Uh, is this a misplaced comment or did I miss something? I do believe a block on ad links should be inserted in comments. It's fairly simple to execute!

We've removed the comment, Monty. Thanks for pointing it out.
