Hulk Hogan Buys New Home on Clearwater Beach

The wrestling superstar recently purchased a home in the Mandalay subdivision on north Clearwater Beach for more than $3.3 million.

It seems wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan has found his way back to the beach.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, owned a home on Eldorado Avenue on north Clearwater Beach for more than 20 years before recently selling it.

He also sold his lavish Belleair mansion for $6.2 million April 13, according to county records. The home was and served as the backdrop for the VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best.

A week after selling the French chalet, Hogan purchased a house at 1040 Eldorado Avenue on north Clearwater Beach for $3.3 million, according to Pinellas property records.

The 8,820-square-foot, two-story home was built in 2009 and has a market value of more than $1.9 million, according to property records.

Realtor and former councilmember John Doran, who lives in the north beach neighborhood, said he had not heard of the house going under contract to Hogan, but he was not shocked that it had.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he was thinking about coming back out there,” he said.

Sylvia Coulis was taking care of her roses and croatons a few weeks ago, watering them from an old coffeepot, when word trickled out that Hogan was interested in buying a house on the quiet north beach street.

Coulis has lived there for more than 30 years. She remembers the last time Hogan owned a house there. What does she think of the possibility of the comeback?

“No comment,” she said.
