Two Clearwater Teachers in Running for Outstanding Educator Award

Holly Del Luca, of Sandy Lane Elementary, and Sarah Painter, of Eisenhower Elementary, are in the running for the Outstanding Educator of the Year award.

Two Clearwater teachers are among six finalists for a prestigious Pinellas County award, school officials announced Friday (Dec. 2).

Elementary school teachers Holly Del Luca, of , and Sarah Painter, of , were selected from 20 semifinalists for the Outstanding Educator of the Year award. A three-member team of administrators and community business leaders observed classrooms and interviewed the teachers before selecting the final six.

Winners will be announced and honored at the Pinellas Education Foundation's "Evening of Excellence" event at on Feb 27.

The teachers were told they were finalists during a surprise visit to their respective schools Friday.
