Clearwater Teachers Part of Space Training

A couple teachers from Clearwater were members of the 210 person HoneywellEducators@Space Academy program in Huntsville, Ala. this summer.

A couple teachers from Clearwater were members of the 210 person HoneywellEducators@Space Academy program in Huntsville, Ala. this summer. 

Honeywell awarded 210 scholarships to teachers from 27 countries and 42 states to attend the simulated astronaut training and professional development program at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. 

Judith Deeley, a math teacher for 12 years at Guardian Angels Catholic School for twelve years and Susan Cole, a teacher at Skychrest Christian School, took part in the training this year.

The teachers participated in 45 hours of professional development, as well as an intensive educator curriculum focused on space science and exploration.  

Each teacher also underwent simulated astronaut training including, a high-performance jet simulation, Scenario-based space mission and land and water survival training.
