Volunteers Team Up to Help Build 2 Homes in 7 Days for Habitat Pinellas' Blitz Build

Habitat Pinellas hosts its fifth annual Blitz Build event, which features nearly 500 community volunteers building two homes in just seven days for two low-income families.

Each year, our Habitat Pinellas "Blitz Build" event provides the opportunity to spotlight the benevolent spirit of our volunteers who are the lifeblood of the Habitat for Humanity program. Nearly 500 volunteers have participated in this year's effort to build two homes in just seven days for two low-income families in Habitat Pinellas' Stevens Creek subdivision in Clearwater.

In addition to many individuals who volunteered throughout the Blitz Build, which began on February 8th, we are fortunate to have the support of several corporate and non-profit organizations who sent out teams to help us reach our seven-day goal for building these two homes that were sponsored byPublix Super Markets Charities and Habitat's Hammers & Heartstrings Gala.

This year's corporate teams include:  First American Financial Corp., Franklin Templeton, Frameworks of Tampa Bay, Nielsen, Power Design Inc., Publix Super Markets Charities, and theTampa Bay Times Forum/Lightning.  Nonprofits and member organizations participating include: the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), Church of the Brethren, First Unity Church, Job Corps, Lakewood High School Key Cluband Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

We simply could not do the Blitz Build without the support of so many dedicated community volunteers!  THANK YOU!
