U.S. 19 Repaving Begins Soon

The Florida Department of Transportation is giving Clearwater motorists a heads up that lane closures are on the horizon.

A $15.4 million repaving project along U.S. 19 from Countryside Boulevard to East Live Oak Street is set to begin soon.

As construction crews prepare to tackle the job, the Florida Department of Transportation says motorists can expect some lane closures to go along with the work. The impending closures are necessary, a FDOT media release said, to make sure the roadway remains safe during construction.

The project is anticipated to take about a year to complete and will also include the replacement of the Nebraska Avenue intersection traffic signals.
