The Paul Ryan VP Pick: What Does it Mean in Florida?

Mitt Romney's selection for a Vice-Presidential pick could have an impact in November in Florida's races beyond the White House.

After NBC News first reported the selection Friday night, Wisconsin U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan was formally introduced to the nation as Mitt Romney's running mate on the GOP ticket Saturday morning during an event in front of the U.S.S. Wisconsin in Norfolk, Va.

In a recent , those polled agreed that U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio would energize Florida voters the most.

Rubio touted the selection in a released statement.

"Throughout his life, Mitt Romney has made great decisions, and choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate is a truly inspired choice," the statement said.

"Paul Ryan is a courageous reformer who understands our nation’s challenges, has proposed bold policy solutions to solve them, and has shown the courage to stand up to President Obama and other Washington politicians trying to tear him down," Rubio added.

"I think most Floridians were pulling for our U.S. Senator Marco Rubio to get the nod as Governor Romney's running mate," said Chairman of the Republican Party of Sarasota County Joe Gruters.

However, former Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, Deborah Cox-Roush says she is already seeing positive feedback from the pick.

"Republicans across Florida are thrilled about this pick," said Cox-Roush.

She says that she's seeing many positive comments on her Facebbok page and Twitter feed.

"It's about jobs and the economy and Paul Ryan will be a great voice for small business," she added.

Gruters agrees that Ryan was is a strong addiion to the ticket.

"Congressman Ryan is a fantastic choice by Governor Romney. He has the ability to excite conservatives, Republicans and Independents with his ability to communicate his bold ideas and vision for America," he said in an email to Patch.

"As we learn more about Paul Ryan, Florida voters will get more excited about him," said Vice Chair of the Hillsborough County Republican Party, Chris Shalosky.

Ryan has gained acclaim for his work as the chair of the House Budget Committee, which produced the so-called "Ryan Budget" which as NBC News reports, "Substantially restructures Medicare; cuts Medicaid, food stamps, and transportation infrastructure; and it reduces the top tax rate from 35% to 25%."

Why thank you, Mr Sprat, for your helpful comments. The only thing you missed is that PolitiFact even won a Pulitzer Prize for their excellent journalism. As someone who spent two careers in gathering and analyzing intelligence, first in the Navy with military intelligence and later at Chase with business intelligence, I found it essential to differentiate fact from fiction. PoilitiFact.com ( www.PoilitiFact.com ) has done a great job of that, and anyone who regularly views their site, as I do, note that they are "equal-opportunity criticizers" who give candid assessments on politicians and media across the political spectrum. In other words, whomever someone favors, they are always bound to annoy you at some point because they will tell you (and everyone else) about the distortions of EVERYONE, including your favored politician or group. But, if your favored candidates are bigger liars, then you will be more annoyed by PolitiFact than someone whose favored candidates lies or distorts much less. But there are other good sources, including FactCheck, and even Snopes (a bit less on politics but lots of on e-mail myths), so someone should always do a myths versus realities check using these sites, as well as PolitiFact.

Politifact even won a Pulitzer Prize. Wow, impressive. So what. Obama won a Nobel (although even the most partisen hack can't begin to explain why).

The President is not God. He's nothing more than an empty suit. A teleprompter reading puppet. To believe he is the answer to the country's woes isn't living in reality. I guess you "Believe In America" just as much as the sheeple who believed in Hope and Change. I simply wanted to "Restore America," but even restoration is a crock...........I want a new America. The fantasy world says we only have two choices...........but duality is about all Americans can comprehend. Coke-Pepsi....Chevy-Ford......Apple-Microsoft.....Democrips-Rebloodlicans. Continue voting in the different gang, it's worked so well the past 100+ years. Yep, let's save America by voting in a carbon copy of the past dictators.

Sounds like Right Here's favorite candidates are caught out in big lies more than their opponents. Gee, I wonder who that could be. Actually, tabulating the lies by candidate, or by party, is rather easy. But, no candidate is immune form being caught in lies, whether big, or small.
