State Rep. Dist. 65 Candidate: Peter Nehr

We asked Republican Peter Nehr what he thinks are the top three problems impacting residents in District 65 and how he'd solve these problems. Nehr also explains why he thinks voters should pick him.

  • State Rep. Dist. 65 Candidate: Peter Nehr
  • Political Party: Republican
  • Age: 61
  • Resident of: Palm Harbor
  • Occupation: State Representative
  • Website: votepeternehr.com

What do you see as the top three problems impacting residents in District 65?

  1. Jobs and Economy
  2. Education
  3. Controlling Government Waste

How would you go about solving these problems?

  • Jobs and Economy

Re-training of unemployed for new jobs and give employers incentives so they can afford to hire new people for their businesses. Reduce regulations on people wanting to open new businesses.

  • Education

Increase state funding for education.

  • Controlling Government Waste

Consolidate agencies to reduce costs

What makes you the best person for this job?

I, Representative Peter Nehr am the best candidate for the position for a variety of reasons:

  • I have over ten years experience dealing with the problems in my cities and the problems in my District.
  • I know how to help my constituents with the problems they are having regarding unemployment, spousal abuse, insurance, foreclosures, drivers licenses and the dozens of other items they cannot do on their own.
  • As a Senior member of the Majority Party, I will have a seat at the table in discussing and implementing policy that will affect all 18.8 million people in the State of Florida. Any new person will have to start at the bottom of the ladder and work themselves up to a leadership position. If that person is with the Minority Party, it will be almost impossible for them to accomplish any meaningful change.

In all fairness...... I'd like to hear what you have already accomplished. Just saying "jobs and economy" over and over doesn't cut it. Tell us exactly what you've accomplished so far, so we can make decisions on your record. P.S. Your staff has always been helpful.
