Pinellas to Get Federal Aid for Debby Recovery

Pinellas County residents are eligible to receive federal assistance as they clean up after Tropical Storm Debby, officials said.

Pinellas County residents are eligible to receive federal aid as they recover from Tropical Storm Debby, according to an Associated Press report on TBO.com.

Clay, Franklin, Hernando, Highlands and Suwannee counties were also added to the list of counties eligible for federal assistance, Florida emergency management officials said Wednesday.

President Barack Obama previously ordered federal aid to help residents in Baker, Bradford, Columbia, Pasco and Wakulla counties, the AP reports.

The declaration means residents hit by the storm may be eligible for temporary housing and home repair grants and low-cost loans for properties that are uninsured.

Business owners and residents can apply for assistance by going online to disasterassistance.gov or calling 1-800-621-FEMA.
