Debby Damage At Bright House Field Cost Nearly $400,000

The city is expected to spend nearly $400,000 for new carpet and furniture for the bottom floor of Bright House Field after class 3 blackwater damaged the floors, wall and furniture June 24.

When Bright House Field filled like a soup bowl with water from rains from Tropical Storm Debby, of course there would be cleanup costs.

Turns out the tab to replace the carpet and furniture and to repair damage to the first floor from the class 3 blackwater that filled it June 24 is close to $400,000.

City leaders are expected to approve those costs at the City Council meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 112 S Osceola Ave., in Clearwater.
