A life-size steel dolphin unveiled Friday at Pier 60 Park on Clearwater Beach marks the start of the Dolphin Trail which is also expected to expand to state Welcome Centers soon.

There are more than 100 decorated dolphins in lobbies of restaurants and offices and on sidewalks outside of businesses throughout the state. Dolphins also will be delivered to all Official Florida Welcome Centers next week.

Daughter Suzanne and her mother Madeline Dallefeld donated the 500-pound, steel rod trio of dolphins sculpture by the late George Dallefeld to the Clearwater Regional Chamber.
