Wolf Pack Patrols Planned for Friday Night

Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies will be on alert looking for drivers under the influence countywide Friday night.

Sheriff Bob Gualtieri promised more wolf pack patrols.

In addition to monthly DUI checkpoints, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is also using the enforcement technique in an effort to identify and remove impaired drivers Friday.

The countywide operation will be going on from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

According to a release from the sheriff's department: 

The goal of the Wolf Pack is to target drivers under the influence of alcohol, aggressive driving and other traffic related violations. Deputies will be driving around various locations throughout the county stopping vehicles and educating drivers.

Sheriff's conducted a similar patrol March 24-25. During that detail deputies arrested and charged eight for driving under the influence.
