As the nation debates whether Florida resident George Zimmerman should lose his permit to carry a gun, here's a look at the Top 12 Florida counties by number of licenses to carry concealed weapons.
Pinellas County ranks 7th in a state with 1.1 million people licensed to carry concealed weapons. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services handles licensing, and these are figures through June 30, 2013.
- Pinellas County ranks 7th, with 43,499 gun permits.
- Hillsborough is No. 4.
- And No. 1? That's no surprise: Miami-Dade.
