One person is dead and two people injured following a lightning strike in Fort Myers Beach Tuesday.

One person is dead and two others injured after they were struck by lightning.

The three people were struck by the bolt along Fort Myers Beach around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, WINK News reports.

Fort Myers Beach Fire Department responded to the incident, and one person was pronounced dead at the scene according to various reports.

Two others survived the lightning strike, according to Fort Myers' NBC 2.

An unconscious teenaged boy and a conscious teenaged girl were both transported by firefighters to an area hospital.

The Southwest Florida NBC affiliate says the three were struck walking along a beach near the Lani Kai resort off of Estero Boulevard.
