Update: Four Churches Burglarized Over Four-Day Period

Skycrest and Friendship United Methodist, Light of Christ Catholic and Grace Lutheran churches were broken into and undisclosed amounts of money were stolen at each location during the incidents which occured from Feb. 22-25, according to police.

Update: Clearwater Police are investigating multiple church burglaries over a four-day period.

Skycrest and Friendship United Methodist, Light of Christ Catholic and Grace Lutheran churches were broken into and undisclosed amounts of money were stolen at each location during the incidents which occured from Feb. 22-25, according to police.

In all four burglaries, the suspect(s) forced entry through doors or windows, according to a news release.

Police said a church van also was stolen from Grace Lutheran Church after the keys were obtained during the break in. It was recovered a short time later near Crest Lake Park.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about these burglaries to contact the Burglary Unit at 727-562-4310 or the Clearwater Police Department Tip Line at 727-562-4080 (option #2).

  • Skycrest United Methodist Church, 2045 Drew St.
    • Burglary occurred between Feb. 24-25
  • Friendship United Methodist Church, 2039 Druid Rd.
    • Burglary occurred between Feb. 24-25
  • Grace Lutheran Church, 1812 N. Highland Ave.
    • Burglary occurred on Feb. 23
  • Light of Christ Church, 2176 Marilyn St.
  • Burglary occurred on Feb. 22
