The results are in from last weekend's Wolf Pack operation targeting drunken and aggressive drivers in Pinellas County.
Turns out Joe Six Pack is no match for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Wolf Pack. Sheriff's deputies:
- Made six arrests for Driving Under the Influence (DUI);
- Charged two motorists for driving with suspended or revoked liceneses;
- Wrote 10 citations for traffic violations;
- Gave out two written warnings.
Not bad for an eight-hour workday.
The special, countywide "Wolf Pack" operation began at 9 p.m., Friday, July 20, and ended at 5 a.m., Saturday, July 21.
Wolf Packs are announced in advance to help discourage unsafe and illegal driving in Pinellas County. They are an effort to reduce DUI-related injuries, and to inform the public about the risks of drinking and driving.
Future "Wolf Pack" patrols will be once a month, on nights separate from the monthly DUI Checkpoints.
