There is no indication Pasco was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police said. However, alcohol is a factor on the part of the pedestrian, who was crossing outside of the crosswalk, they said.

The woman was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa with life threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at 11:02 p.m., according to police.
