An Odessa man died after crashing his motorcycle into the median on Memorial Causeway on Sunday night.

Around 7:25 p.m., James E. Williams, 26, was traveling eastbound into downtown at a high speed when he lost control of his motorcycle descending the crest of the bridge, according to Clearwater Police.

Williams was thrown from the motorcycle and hit the base of a sign before landing in the westbound lanes, officials said. He was not wearing a helmet and died on impact, police said.

The motorcycle came to a stop about 200 yards away.

You people(the general public of Clearwater) always blame the cyclist when a lot of the time its these elderly people who do not even drive the speed limit and then block every lane possible to pass in I drive these roads every single day and I see elderly cut people off without looking and driving slow swerve on speeders as if they are giving you a clue to slow down when in reality you could easily kill somebody especially a motorcyclist and an all out lack of driving skills there should be a a point where age and physical actions play a roll in recertifying your lisense because these things happen every single day in Clearwater and if someone would like to help support this I would belies then happy to record visual and audio of this thank you for reading
