A man was found dead apparently of an accidentaly drowning in his backyard pool Wednesday morning.
When Cecilia Kwalick awoke, her husband Steven was not in the bed next to her. She had last seen him at 10 p.m. when she left him in their hot tub. It was customary for him to jump in the pool later to cool off, she said to investigators.
She went out back to find him face up in the pool around 7 a.m. Kwalick went to a neighbor to ask for help getting her husband out of the water.
Clearwater Fire and Rescue were called and were on scene at 7:10 a.m. when they pronounced Steven Kwalick, 49, dead.
An autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death is being conducted by the medical examiner's office.
