A man already in jail was arrested and charged in a five year old Clearwater homicide Tuesday.
Justin D'Patrick Taylor was arrested and charged with second degree murder in the slaying of Corey Bernard Brown March 2, 2007, according to Clearwater Police.
Taylor shot and killed Brown, 33, at his Maple Street home, according to detectives. Brown's car was found dumped in a parking lot at Mariner's Pointe apartments in St. Petersburg, according to a 2007 St. Petersburg Times article.
"During the course of the five-year investigation, detectives identified, located, and interviewed numerous people that provided information about Taylor's involvement in the murder," Elizabeth Watts, police spokeswoman, said in a release. "In addition, recent DNA analysis linked Taylor to evidence at the scene."
Taylor, 26, is currently an inmate at the Pinellas County Jail for several charges including armed robbery, armed burglary, and felon in possession of a firearm.
Taylor pleaded not guilty to the charges Wednesday, according to Pinellas County court records.
