Homeless Man Shot in Highpoint Neighborhood

A homeless man was shot in the front yard of a Highpoint neighborhood home on Sunday. Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is looking for the suspect involved in the shooting.

Kendrick Mydrell Maynor, 34, a homeless man, was shot in the Highpoint neighborhood during an attempted robbery. Maynor was injured in the shooting.

The shooting occurred on Sunday at 11:56 p.m. in the front yard of a home located at 3145 Homer Street in unincorporated Clearwater, according to the 

According to officials, Maynor was walking over to his friend's home located at the Homer Street address when an unknown man approached him. He was attempting to rob Maynor. Maynor fell to the ground in the front yard of the home, at which time the suspect pulled a gun out and shot Maynor.

Maynor suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment. 

The Sheriff’s Office is looking for the suspect involved in the shooting. The suspect is a white male with a goatee of unknown age. He is about 5-foot-9-inches tall weighing about 150 to 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black baggy shorts and black sneakers.

The man was wearing a stocking over his face during the incident.
