Firefighters Hope to 'Keep the Wreath Green'

Green lights will be changed to red on a 72-inch wreath at Clearwater Fire Administration Headquarters for every fire related to holiday decorations. Officials hope it stays green.

Clearwater Fire and Rescue is hoping to keep its wreath green for the holiday season.

For every fire determined to be related to holiday decorations, a bulb on the 72 inch wreath will be changed to red. The goal is to keep all the bulbs green.

"We hope this will help raise awareness about the potential hazards of holiday decorations," said Elizabeth Watts, public safety spokeswoman, in a release.
