Detectives are investigating the death of Clearwater woman who was found unresponsive by her boyfriend early Saturday morning, according to authorities.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is on the scene at a home in the 2900 block of Pinecone Circle in unincorporated Clearwater, authorities said.

The woman, who is in her late 20s, was found unresponsive by her boyfriend when he came home just after 3:30 a.m. She was later pronounced deceased by responding paramedics.

The woman is not being identified until her family is notified, officials said.

Detectives "are working to piece together the information and events prior to her body being discovered to get a clearer picture of what may have happened," sheriff's office spokesperson Marianne Pasha said in a media release.

The body has been removed from the scene and taken to the Medical Examiner's Office.
