Clearwater Woman Dies While Diving in Palm Beach County

The 57-year-old diver, whose identity has not been released, was found floating in a waterway near a park after she was diving with a buddy, the Palm Beach Post reports.

A diver from Clearwater was found floating in a Palm Beach County waterway Sunday and was later pronounced dead, the Palm Beach Post reports.

The 57-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, was found floating in the Intracoastal Waterway near a park in Riviera Beach, according to the Post report. A Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office marine patrol boat pulled her from the water.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead, a sheriff's office spokesperson told the newspaper.

The woman was diving Sunday morning with a buddy who told her to surface, but the woman kept going down after a starfish, the Post reports.

"The other diver and the woman became separated," the Post article states. "When he surfaced, he saw the sheriff’s boat pulling the woman out of the water."
