Clearwater Police National Night Out Wins $1,000 Award

Clearwater Police is awarded $1,000 from Target for its National Night Out event. The event was selected out of hundreds across the country.

Bay Flite landed. Documents were shredded. Residents tried to pass field sobriety tests while wearing "drunk goggles."

Law enforcement and public safety officials answered questions and performed demonstrations as hundreds of residents came to check out Clearwater Police's 29th Annual National Night Out Against Crime last October.

The event should be even bigger this year after Target honored Clearwater’s event with the 2012 Excellence Award, and $1,000 that will go to next year's event, according to a post on the Clearwater Police Facebook page. The event was selected out of hundreds across the country.
