Clearwater Police Investigating Engman Street Shooting

One man was shot and the shooter is still on the loose, according to authorities.

The Clearwater Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred late Friday afternoon on Engman Street near Holt Avenue, and the shooter may still be on the loose, authorities said.

According to preliminary reports, a fight occurred between two people that resulted in gunfire sometime before 5 p.m., public safety spokesperson Elizabeth Watts said. One man was shot and airlifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The shooter fled on foot and could not be located following a track by a police K-9 unit, Watts said.

The suspect is initially described as a 25-year-old man wearing a red shirt with white lettering and jeans.
