Convenience Store Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested, Police Say

Police arrested a man they say is a suspect in an armed robbery on Aug. 29.

Sunday night Clearwater police arrested Christopher Kelly, 28, who they say is a suspect in the armed robbery at the Circle K on Gulf to Bay on Aug. 29, according to a news release.

Tonight (Sept. 2) around 9:00 p.m., a police officer was checking the area around Ella Place for the suspect. When the officer saw Kelly exit a vehicle and enter his parent's residence at 2350 Ella Place, officers continued checking the area for Kelly. An officer spotted Kelly on the roof and he was taken into custody without incident, according to a news release.

Last week police had asked for the public's help in identifying who they say entered the Circle K and went straight to a cooler for a can of coke on Aug. 29.
