Brothers in Jail for Separate Sexual Battery Crimes Against Children

While investigating a man for sexual battery against children, his brother emerges as a suspect for a similar crime in another case after a separate victim comes forward.

Marsanti Martinez abused two brothers while their mother was away at work for four years, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

The brother victims came forward about the sexual abuse that allegedly occured four years ago in June. By then Martinez was living in Britain, CT.

He was extradited back to Florida and admitted to the charges, according to investigators. Martinez, 24, is being held without bond in Pinellas County Jail.

Omartin Martinez, 26, voluntarily came to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Administration Building for an interview, according to authorities. He admitted to the crime and was arrested and charged with one count of sexual battery with a child under 12 years old, officials said.

Detectives believe there may be additional victims for both of these suspects,
as both had access to various children.

Detectives are asking that anyone with information that would assist them in this investigation to call Det. Mark Kolenda, from the Crimes Against Children Unit, at 727-582-6200.
